Are Sleep Walkers Considered... Zombies?

Of course they're not zombies... but they can be pretty spooky tho!!

I know... because I used to be one of these midnight strollers!  Now it wasn't always get up and walk somewhere... I've done other very strange things in my sleep (get your mind out of the gutters! hehe), so here goes... I've told these stories so many times, they are like old books, pages are bent... torn... and the binding is falling apart... but they are still... really good stories!

Story #1: The Giggling Fit

We were all in bed one night, and I was sleeping soundly. Until sometime in the middle of the night Mom and Dad heard laughing coming from my room.  Thinking it was nothing, just probably having a good dream, they continued to listen.  I guess it started to get louder, and I was laughing hysterically, so Mom went to my room to find out what was going on, and to see if I was awake.  I was there pointing at the wall, just laughing my head off.  Mom started talking to me, and I didn't say anything back, I just continued to laugh and point... laugh and point.  Confused as to what was happening she tried to get me to stop, but I wouldn't... So She went and got Dad to come see me, getting somewhat concerned about me (and my mental health possibly lol). Dad came in and started nudging me and shaking me trying to get me to stop, but no way.  Nothing they were doing stopped me from laughing.  I dunno what was on that wall, but sounds like it was pretty entertaining.. So, in one final shake, Dad shouted out my name: " NICK!!!"  I stopped laughing, and just went back to sleep, didn't even budge...  Pretty strange don't you think?  Please continue... Yes, it does get weirder! :)

Story #2: The Sit-up Stare!

Ok, this story starts out with a joyous occasion.  There were people at my house celebrating something and having a few drinks, a social gathering if you will. My Parents and their friends were over, and my aunts and uncles, etc.  Me and My sister were in bed of course sleeping (or spying on people, we liked to do that from time to time lol).  So the party finally ended, and my uncle Tim (yes, of course the same one from the windows incident!) stayed over all night.  So in the middle of the night... nature called... and my uncle went to use the washroom.  My bedroom was directly across the hall from the bathroom (like directly across!).  So my uncle turns on the bathroom light. and just happened to glance in my room... and as he looked in, I sat up slowly, like something out of a horror movie, and turned my head towards him, and just stared at him for a few seconds, and then just laid back down and went back to sleep.  FOR months and months he would not sleep at my house after that happened, he was so freaked out.  He said if my eyes had turned red, he would have dropped dead right there and then.  SO Are you creeped out yet??... if you are, please stop reading now... if you are intrigued... keep going, mwahahahahaha! :D

Story #3:  The Infamous Visit to the Pynn Family Residence!

Ok, I'm not sure when this actually happened, but we were living in the apartment below my Nan's restaurant. And there was a gravel hill going down to the door (there were no stairs there yet, as we just moved in not that long before). I'm going to say I was probably around 8yrs old (post in the comments if you know exactly, I'm looking at you Mom! lol). And, oddly enough, I remember parts of what happened, but had no control over my actions. Ok Here goes...

My Dad was out having a few beers at his friends house, so Mom of course had the door left unlocked.  I got up from my bed (sleepwalking), walked out the door, climbed up over the gravel embankment and walked to the edge of the road.  Ok, this is where my "concious mind" kicked in for a second.  I remember standing there at the road, and I remember thinking about going up to my Nans (across the road, up the lane) or going up to my buddys house (which was up the road), but for obvious reasons, I thought no one would be up.

Then my consciousness blacks out, and I'm skipping down the road in the opposite direction of my friends house (yes, skipping... not walking, not running, skipping OK!? go ahead, laugh for a second............done? ok please continue).

Then my consciousness goes again... and I'm down the road, inside the house, talking to a 180 pound German Sheppard named Rambo! (not sure of actualy weight, could have been more, but he was HUGE!!) This dog used to bark at anyone, including myself, that walked down past the house. Why he didn't eat me that night, I have no idea... who knows... he might never have been there, but this is what I can remember... so I was sitting there talking to the dog, crying, and saying something... which I have no idea what it was at the moment... possibly "Please don't eat me" hahah I don't know... then I black out again...

This part was told to me a few times.  I walked into the house, saying "Hello.... Hello..." and I walked right into Mrs. Pynn's bedroom (Louise, very sweet lady, haven't seen her in a LONG time, but I bet she still remembers this story to this day!!).  Can you imaging having someone walk into your bedroom, in the middle of the night?  It would be a sorry person who walked into my room I tell you that much!!!!!... Anyway, she got out of bed, and realized who it was (small commnuity, everyone knew everyone, and our families were always good friends) and she started asking me how I got there, and I told her "I'm looking for my boots, I'm looking for my boots"... she looked down, and my feet were damp, and she touched my foot, and said "Honey, you don't have any boots here..."  So with that, I started walking back out the door... so she put on her overcoat, and some shoes, and walked out behind me...

My consciousnes comes back in for a second here, and I remember headed back home... but thats it... She followed me up the road, and chased me right to my door... I went on in, and crawled back into bed like nothing happened.  So Louise got my mother up, and told her what happened... and Mom almost hit the floor.   Just imagine... anything in the world could have happened to me... I could have walked off a wharf or into a ditch, or who knows!!!... Can anyone honestly say they've done anything like this before?!?!?... if so... PLEASE tell me in the comments section... because this is some very strange behavior if you ask me... hahaha...

So, there you have it... I'm not sure if there is any moral here... only to keep your door locked, because you dno't know who might leave, or enter in their sleep!!...

Extra: I was telling mom about this blog, and she filled me in on a couple more things that happened, that I had forgotten about altogether!!!

1.  My Aunt Lorraine was babysitting me one night, and she went downstairs to put some wood in the furnace.  When she was down there, she heard some thing moving upstairs.  My sister and I were in bed sleeping, so she was kinda freaked out.  When she went up, I was sitting on the couch, just startnig blankly straight into nothing... she said "You Go TO BED!" and off I went without saying anything.

2. Apparently Mom and Dad used to switch off a breaker (the breaker box was in my bedroom) in my room.  Mom said that on several occasions when she came in to do it... I would sit up in bed and stare at them, and say in a creepy voice "whaatttt are youu doinggggg?"  and then just lie back down and go back to sleep, like nothing happenend. lol

Man, I was one messed up kid when I was asleep... hahaha

Thanks for Reading!!
